Yotta Data Services teams up with NVIDIA to drive India's AI revolution - Darshan Hiranandani
Yotta Data Services has announced a partnership with NVIDIA aimed at providing advanced GPU computing infrastructure and platforms through its Shakti Cloud platform. This collaboration seeks to propel the progress of AI solutions in India, making cutting-edge AI capabilities accessible to a wide range of organizations, businesses, AI researchers, and startups across the nation. By leveraging this initiative, Yotta's customers will have the capability to train extensive language models (LLMs) and handle various AI workloads, meeting the increasing requirements of markets not only in India and Asia but also globally.
Yotta has placed a significant order for NVIDIA H100 Tensor Core GPUs, known for their potency in handling AI and HPC tasks. The company plans to have 4096 operational GPUs by January 2024 and aims to scale up to 16,384 GPUs by June 2024. With full support from NVIDIA and a mutual objective to enhance India's independent AI landscape, Yotta intends to further expand its GPU capacity to 32,768 by the close of 2025. This substantial growth will directly cater to the substantial demand for high-performance GPUs from research laboratories, enterprises, and startups engaged in HPC and AI workloads.
Through this collaboration, Yotta becomes India's pioneering NVIDIA Partner Network cloud partner (NCP) and attains the status of an Elite Partner on the global NCP roster.
Moreover, Yotta is implementing a NVIDIA-powered reference architecture featuring NVIDIA InfiniBand networking. This setup will enable GPU clusters to deliver exceptional performance at a large scale, specifically tailored for extensive AI training, inferencing workloads, and HPC tasks.
Right from the start, Yotta’s Shakti Cloud AI platform will offer various Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solutions. These include foundational AI models and applications, empowering Indian enterprises to craft potent AI tools and products.
The initial deployment of 16,384 GPUs will take place at NM1, Yotta’s renowned Uptime Tier-IV data center in Navi Mumbai. Following this, a similarly sized cluster will be deployed at D1, Yotta’s latest and largest hyperscale data center near Delhi in Greater Noida.
This collaboration is happening during a remarkable phase of AI adoption in India, marked by substantial growth in research, online gaming, and digital content creation. Projections indicate that AI adoption in India will grow at a compound annual rate exceeding 20% to reach US$14 billion by 2030. Simultaneously, the gaming industry in India is forecasted to surge to US$5 billion by 2025. These industries heavily rely on GPU computing to meet increasing customer demands.
Darshan Hiranandani, Co-founder & Chairman of Yotta, and Sunil Gupta, Co-founder & CEO of Yotta, express their enthusiasm, stating, “Yotta is thrilled to collaborate with NVIDIA, a global leader in GPU technology, in India to introduce our Shakti Cloud platform.
